So today during the end of one of my classes I was confronted by a close friend of mine who hugged me and continued talking to me with her arm around me. Simply because that is the sort of person she is. While we were talking, I noticed a group of boys standing in a circle and staring at us. They were pointing, laughing, and making weird faces. I have been asked before if I was a lesbian but today it clicked. They think I'm gay. And they hate me for it.
Which brings up my topic for today: Gay rights.
I am straight. According to my religion, being gay is wrong and a sin. HOWEVER. My religion also believes that we should love all people despite the wrong things they do because we also do wrong things. Everyone sins. Everyone. So why not let these people do what they please? People are so cruel to people they believe are wrong. And it is unjust and unfair.
One of my close friends is bisexual and I know many other people who are gay or bisexual. And I have always known that it is very hard for them to endure the things they do. Being told that they are going to burn in hell and how terrible of people they are is a daily thing for them. But now I am dealing with this as well. Without any reason. Simple lack of caring has made me a victim. And so many other innocent people as well. People tell me that being gay is fashionable right now. It's a fad. And I will admit that this is true to an extent. But you wouldn't bully someone just because they started curling their hair like a celebrity did would you? Or because they bought a new pair of jeans with holes like their friends? Maybe some of these people have real issues and this is their only way of dealing with it. Or maybe they're just tired of inconsiderate jerks. Just because you don't agree with everything they have to say and everything they do, doesn't mean you need to try to hurt them.

Part One.
Grr.
Why do people always have to be hating?
I mean really. Yeah, you gotta be defending yourself. You gotta make sure you and your loved ones are safe and stuff. But there comes a time when people cross the line. Not to point out any specific details or anything but..Take the death of Osama Bin Laden for example. I get it. I do. He was a bad man who did very bad things. But he was still a MAN. Which a lot of people seem to forget. Someone was killed yesterday. And now he is no longer a threat. But he was still killed. Dead. Think about that word for a minute will ya? Someone is no longer living. His family will never speak with him again in this lifetime. He is gone. Just gone. That's all there is to it. And people are CELEBRATING this??!
A peer of mine is currently at a "Bin Laden burn in hell" party. They bought a cake. To celebrate the death of a man. This is ridiculous. Giving thanks for having one less safety threat to worry would be a logical thing to do. Throwing a party would not. As I grow older I am more and more disgusted with my generation and the things they do. It seems more and more kids are becoming hating druggies who simply have sex and bully others. I realize not all of them are like that. I myself am not. And none of my close friends are either. But I know many people who are and this disturbs me.
But let's not forget adults here. My only other serious worry is for adults. You blame the children YOU RAISED for faults they were not taught to avoid. We ought to know better anyway. But you're the ones who have taught us these ways and let us to become who we are. Many adults I know are also seriously celebrating the death of this man. It is ridiculous.
Now don't get me wrong. I do not think that US soldiers did the wrong thing, nor am I saying that I'm upset that he's dead. I am glad. He has done terrible things and was considered a threat to our nation. But there comes a point when people have simply gone too far. And I believe we are way past that point.
